Jacksonville Florida homeowners are steadily beginning to increase the number of remodeling projects. Some of the most popular remodeling projects include bathrooms, kitchens, and room additions. One study shows that many homeowners are remodeling because of natural catastrophes. On the Gulf coast, Hurricane Katrina and other disasters caused the building industry to boom. Now it seems that there is an excess of items needing to be sold. Improved pricing and availability of resources and workers is critical for homeowners as many are remodeling their homes to sell them or are fixing up a home that they have bought. The longing to have a more updated look is driving some homeowners to remodel. The amount of money spent on remodeling is expected to increase in 2007. Fifty percent of those in the study said that they plan to spend thirty percent of their home’s current value of the project. That is thirty-three percent more than last year. Some opt to remodel for additional space. Whatever the motivation, remodeling is on the rise.
