Normandy used to be a rural area situated on Jacksonville’s Westside once used mainly for dairy farming. Some of the area is still home of sizable pieces of land with oaks, tall pines, and grazing cattle. The area is now an entryway into major growth. Both Jacksonville Naval Air Station and the former Cecil Field Naval Air Station are nearby making the area a largely military community for years past. Plans are in the works for making $120 million worth of infrastructure advancements to portions of the 17,000 acre region. Normandy is ideally located near both I-295 and I-10. Downtown Jacksonville is also close, with only a 10 minute drive. Shopping malls and Jacksonville International Airport are all located within a short distance. The schools in the area are phenomenal and are even considered some of the best schools in Jacksonville. The community has deep family roots, with many families having resided in the area for generations. Normandy is a great place to purchase Northeast FL real estate for numerous reasons
