Maintaining Homeowners Insurance

Jacksonville Real Estate News

Updated: Wednesday, May 23, 2012

There is no concrete rule or time for when a Northeast Fl homeowner insurer will drop coverage, but simply one or two small claims can be detrimental. In the event that you are Northeast Fl Homeowners insurance company, start asking your agent or the insurance company drops you what you can do to get back in their good graces because the money you save by not switching insurers could be extremely beneficial.

Consider raising your deductible as much as you can afford. You'll save as much as 25% on premiums if you raise a $250 deductible to $1,000 and can use your savings to increase your coverage. Even inquiring about whether to make a claim can hurt your reputation as some companies will count them against you in a central database that other insurers can access. Insurers stress loyalty because the longer you've been with an insurer, the more they'll want to retain you.
