Showing your home is a critical part of selling your Jacksonville home. Before opening your home up, you should prune and water all plants. Plants make a great transitional area between inside and out. Dying plants should be disposed of or kept out of sight. The yard should be mowed, raked, and watered at all times. Tools, unpleasant patio furniture, trash, toys, and bicycles should be removed from the yard area. Gardens and lawns should be kept weeded at all times. Shrubs and trees should be trimmed and pruned. Flowering plants are great ways to dress up the yard, walkways, and patio. Garden equipment and hoses should not be seen by the buyer. Outdoor furniture needs to be clean and repainted is necessary. Stack firewood neatly in a place out of direct visibility. Examine your mailbox and paint and repair or just replace it all together. Make any minor repairs to your home’s exterior before showing. Excess extension cords and wires out in the open should be removed. Open the doors to areas you want the buyer to see. If possible, air out the basement and decorate it.
