When you are looking to hire a North Florida contractor, there are some general rules and guidelines to examine. It is not a good idea to hire a Jacksonville fl contractor before thoroughly investigating them. Begin your contractor search at the state licensing board. Talk to the Better Business Bureau and the licensing agency to see if there are any complaints on file about a certain contractor. Once you have done the preliminary work, interview each of the contractors you are considering. Ask them questions about their insurance and the type of worker’s compensation insurance they have. You will want to get the insurance company’s phone number to call and verify. Check to see if the contractor has an umbrella general liability policy. If the contractor lacks insurance, you will be held liable for any work-related injuries during the project. Ask for references if they have all of the insurance. You may check with friends about hiring a contractor they have had in the past. Never simply hire a Jacksonville Fl contractor without doing a little bit of homework first though. It could cost you!
