Green friendly practices: Northeast Fl Home Size

Jacksonville Real Estate News

Updated: Tuesday, May 22, 2012

The Size of Northeast Fl Homes- it does not matter whether they are Ponte Vedra Homes, Orange Park condos, St Augustine homes or Jacksonville Fl homes – it may impact global warming.

The size of Jacksonville homes can potentially have a dramatic impact on global warming. Some experts recommend Jacksonville Fl homebuyers purchase a smaller house as the best way to eliminate much of the greenhouse gasses; however many home buyers are not completely sold on this idea.

The construction of larger Northeast Fl houses has slowed. Houses over 3,000 square feet make up approximately 20 percent of the housing market. Homes in the 7,500 to 10,000 square foot range are no longer as popular. Many home buyers are concerned with the environment, but this concern rarely affects their purchasing power.  Having a home with higher ceilings increases the amount of space to be cooled and heated. More windows means that heat cannot be retained as well as a wall can. Also, fireplaces that drive heat right up the chimney is cause for concern.

Buyers do take notice of ways to save on conventional energy features. Things like low-emission glass, increased insulation, and dual pane windows are a few of the features homebuyers pay attention to. Perhaps the problem of global warming will cause more homeowners and Jacksonville Fl new home buyers to make changes.
