The moving process is the final step when buying or selling a house. Before you move, there are some things to straighten out and investigate. You should get acquainted with what is going on in your new neighborhood. The local chamber of commerce will supply you with a community information packet. They may also supply you with maps and coupons for discounts so that you can acquaint with your new local merchants.
Preparing for the move is probably the most difficult part of the moving process. Be sure to contact the post office to inform them of your change of address. Credit card companies and any subscriptions you receive should be notified. Go through your directory of financial institutions, utility companies, medical providers, insurance companies and federal and state agencies that you deal with. Make a list of those that need to be notified of your new address. What insurance and utilities will need to be turned off at your current address? Which will need to be turned on at your next home?
Starting to think through all the facets of the move will help make the moving process go smother. Making lists will help with the process; trying to keep all of the details in ones mind is never a pleasant process. Lists work.
